Over 2,600 international students are welcomed each year in the various departments of the Marie and Louis Pasteur University (former Franche-Comté University), along with over 3,500 interns at its Centre for Applied Linguistics (CLA).
Each year the North Franche-Comté iUT hosts many international students under different programs : ADIUT exchange programs, MEXPROTEC, ERASMUS, and individual mobility students outside exchange programs, notably through CAMPUSFRANCE.

What is the Computer Science B.U.T. ?
The Bachelor of Technology (B.U.T.) in Computer Science prepares students to become computer scientists involved in the design, development and implementation of IT solutions to meet the digital transformation needs of organisations. The program is based on acquiring fundamental knowledge and skills in computer and web development, in system and network administration, and in database and project management. Emphasis is placed on written and oral communication, particularly in English language, and on the importance of group work in order to join a project team.
What is the study track ?
We offer you the opportunity to complete the 3rd year of the B.U.T. program at our institution which corresponds to 60 ECTS .
All lessons and assessments are conducted in English. Therefore, a B1 level in English is a prerequisite for applying.
Moreover, to make your daily life easier, it is recommended to have some knowledge of French.
The Application implementation : design, development, validation study track focuses on the software lifecycle : from the expression of the client’s needs, to the design, programming, validation, and maintenance of the application.
Teaching hours are supplemented by an internship, which can be completed in France or another country.
International students will also have the opportunity to take French as a foreign language course to improve their language skills.
Targeted skills
Skill 1 : Develop an application Develop — meaning design, code, test, and integrate — an IT solution for a client.
Skill 2 : Optimize IT applications Propose optimized IT applications based on specific criteria : execution time, accuracy, resource consumption, etc.
Skill 3 : Work in an IT team Acquire, develop, and utilize the skills necessary to work effectively within an IT team.
It qualifies students to work as application designers and developers (mobile, web, Internet of things, video games, etc).
What is the cost of training and daily living ?
University registration fees : The annual university fees must be paid at the time of administrative registration : 175 euros per academic year* (2024-2025).
Student life contribution fees (CVEC) : In addition to registration fees, each student must pay the student life contribution fee to the BFC Crous, which amounts to 103 euros per academic year (2024-2025). For more information: https://cvec.etudiant.gouv.fr/.
Daily living expenses : These expenses can be estimated between 600 and 900 euros : rent, food, public transports etc.
* The Nord Franche-Comté iUT is a component of the Marie and Louis Pasteur University. The funding is primarily public, with state funds supplemented by professional training and local government financing. The average cost of the training is estimated at 14,000 euros per student per year.
